Endemic and native birds of Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland (2025)
Below are images of some of Aotearoa New Zealand’s native bird species. Eva says of this portfolio:
“As a keen bird photographer, I am in my happy place whenever I aim my camera on my flighty subjects, whether this involves lying on a forest floor or crouching in the mud of intertidal zones. Living in the age of the Anthropocene, I want to showcase the beauty and quirks of these often-underrated creatures through intimate portraits and captured behaviours, as I believe that people care most about what they know.”
